COVID-19 FMCU Access

Beginning Monday, May 18, 2020, when the St. Louis County stay-at-home order is modified, First Missouri Credit Union will increase our lobby access gradually to ensure the safety of both our employees and you, our members.

Phase 1 – Limited Lobby Open

  1. Members will be permitted to make an appointment to enter either FMCU building, keeping in mind that no more than two members will be allowed in the lobby at one time.
  2. Following each member’s departure, FMCU will immediately disinfect all common surfaces touched.
  3. FMCU employees will wear masks when meeting with members.
  4. Members must wear masks to enter building (after they are identified).
  5. Social distancing guidelines must be followed; i.e., maintain six feet between members and other employees.
  6. Hand sanitizer will be available for both employee and member use.
  7. Anyone running a fever or displaying symptoms common to COVID-19 should stay home.

COVID-19 Member Relief

Your credit union is here to help and wants to work with you. In addition to the list below, management will consider providing personal relief to members on a case-by-case basis. Please contact us, so we can determine how to best help you. The following actions are intended to provide immediate relief for you, our member.

Immediate member relief options are in effect and available from April 1 through May 31, 2020:

Members will receive the following benefits automatically with no member action required:

  1. The monthly excess ATM withdrawal fee for more than five withdrawals in the month will be automatically waived.
  2. The per-check fee for remote deposits will be automatically waived.
  3. The per-check limit on a remote deposit will be automatically increased to match the daily limit of $5,000.
  4. Members will automatically have no minimum payment required for their May Visa credit card payment.
  5. Members will automatically be allowed to skip their April loan payment(s). Members enrolled in payroll deductions and scheduled automated transfers will need to contact the credit union if they wish to take advantage of our COVID-19 payment skip.
  6. Effective Friday, April 24, members will enjoy a temporary suspension of the six convenient transactions limit from their ‘savings deposit’ accounts.

Members can also request one or more of the following relief benefits by contacting FMCU:

  • The CD penalties for early withdrawal may be waived with a member’s written request.
  • Management will also consider approving emergency title loans up to $15,000; emergency signature loans up to $2,500 and loan payment deferral for future months (May, etc.) on a case-by-case basis with a member’s written request.

Helpful Q & A

Q. Why is the Visa credit card skip-a-pay scheduled for May instead of April?
A. Due to required processor lead time, it is too late to offer this benefit for April. Blocked cards and delinquent card balances may NOT qualify for this skip-a-pay.

Q. Is there a cost to the member for the COVID-19 skip-a-pay benefits?
A. There is no cost to the member, and the member will not be required to take any action to take advantage of either skip-a-pay benefit. MEMBERS WILL STILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY INTEREST ACCRUAL ON THE LOAN/VISA, just like our annual skip-a-pay program. This will be “charged” on future payments. Reminder: Members enrolled in payroll deductions and scheduled automated transfers will need to contact the credit union if they wish to take advantage of COVID-19 payment skip.

Q. What loans will not qualify for skip-a-pay in April?
A. Virtually all loans will qualify, including mortgages and HELOCs, however, loans 60 or more days delinquent on April 1, 2020, or originated in March, 2020, WILL NOT qualify.

Q. What will be required for emergency loan approval and loan deferrals?
A. Member will need to request an emergency loan or loan deferment and provide reasonable cause, along with some form of documentation to support their request, these details can be outlined by a FMCU at the time the request is made.
